Analysis of To Kill A Mockingbird

To Kill A Mockingbird

See the source image

The genre of To Kill A Mockingbird is Southern Gothic because it is based in Alabama in the 1930s and talks about quite dark things, like the rape and court scenes and the idea of the haunted house and a "monster" living inside of it. It also has the theme of racism throughout the whole story which was common in books from the 60s.

The target audience for this book is young adults who are interested in society and the way people think and act towards different people, especially the relationships between white and black people in Alabama in the 1930s. Stereotypically the book is more aimed towards women because stereotypically women are more interested in that topic than men are.

Poster Project

This is the finished product of my poster. I have aimed it for a young adults/adult audience because it's quite bland and simplistic with muted colours. It is a poster for a book and so I wanted it to be focused on the image of Louis Theroux as he is the main focus of the book, which is a non-fiction book about people he meets while making his documentaries.

Image result for book postersThis is a book poster like the one I've made which is very simplistic and easy to read. It relates to a target audience of all ages as it is so simplistic.

Image result for book postersThis is another poster for a book that is slightly less ssimplistic because there is a lot more writing and graphics than the first one. This poster is easily distinguishable because it has one of the 'characters' on it like my poster but unlike the first one. This poster is mainly aimed for children and teens but we know this because we know the Harry Potter books are for that age range.

Image result for book posters This is another simplistic poster for a book which shows the main theme of the story on the front cover - heirarchy. The red character shows the more dominant class (the bold colour), the yellow shows middle class (more muted than the red) and the blue shows the working/lower class (very muted and in the background). This is mainly for adults in terms of target audience.

Induction

So, my name is Jaimie Clarke and I am obsessed with documentaries and films in general. I wanted to do this course because I did Media as an A Level last year, and loved looking at why people watch films and then love making short film with my cousin.

I wasn't at the first two induction days and at the third one, I loved seeing how to edit things and I became very intrigued. I instantly clicked with most people in my group and that was nice compared to at sixth form.

Looking at the course, Im hoping for it to be better than sixth form - because sixth form is trash, and for it to be more production.
